VISIT TO RAIL MUSEUM

Students from class VI-IX visited Rail Museum at New Delhi, Railway Station at Gurgaon and Metro Museum at Patel Chowk Metro Station, New Delhi as part of the ISA project ‘Train On Rails-Connecting People For Decades’. The aim of this project is to study the Indian and Sri Lankan Railways with regards to history of Railways, types of passenger services, UNESCO world heritage sites, notable trains and challenges faced. All information will be exchanged to our partner school at Sri Lanka. The unique railway museum has a fascinating and exotic collection of over 100 real size exhibits of Indian Railways ie engines named as Phoenix 260’’, ‘YDMIR-6002’,’Breakdown Crane’, and the ‘WT-594’. Static and working models, signaling equipments, antique furniture, historical photographs and related literature etc. is displayed in the museum. They also enjoyed a ride in joy train. They visited station at Gurgaon and got first hand information from station master, Shri Jai Bhagwan about various operations involved in railways.
