Ryan International School, Ghaziabad organized the Annual Senior Sports Meet on 26th November, 2016 , with the theme – ‘ Leap, Lead And Succeed ‘ in accordance with the visionary Chairman of Ryan Group Of Institutions Dr Augustine F Pinto, Managing Director Madam Grace Pinto and CEO Mr Ryan Pinto; to inculcate sense of competition and foster team spirit . The gala event was commenced by invoking the blessings of Lord Almighty through Scripture Reading, Lord’s Prayer, Special Prayer, Praise And Worship Songs which was followed by Welcome Note in varied languages and felicitation of Guests by the school Principal Ms Anju Sharma and Headmistress Ms Seema Kasumra with saplings as a token of gratitude and spreading the message of green and clean globe .The event was graced by the benign presence of the Chief Guest – Mr P K Srivastava (Commandant -NDRF) ; Guests of Honour – Mr R K Shishodia (International Shooter), Mr Anurag Raghuvanshi (International Hockey Player), Ms Abhilasha Mehra (International Lawn Tennis Player ); the Special Guests -Dr Parul Aggarwal (MD Physician -Santosh Hospital), Mr Birendra Kumar Sharma (Professor- AKG Engineering College); PTA members and the proud parents of awardees and participants . The invocation by the school choir and the welcome dance performance set the tone for the day. The ceremonial flag hoisting ceremony was followed by March Past by different contingents – NCC, School Council , Different houses (Aryabhatta, Bhabha, Gargi and Raman ), RDRF, Scouts and Guide , different sports teams – Archery , Badminton , Volleyball , Cricket, Football, Basketball and Lawn Tennis . Nikhil Sharma MOS Sports led the oath taking ceremony wherein all the participants vowed to abide by the rules and regulations during the meet. The Chief Guest Mr P K Srivastava (Commandant NDRF) declared the sports meet open and released tri colour balloons which really created a fully charged atmosphere. Thereafter the students participated in various track and field events which included 100 meter, 200 meter and 400 meter races for boys and girls of classes 6-11. Relay and Hurdle races were organized for class 9 girls and boys. All the students actively participated and exhibited their team work and sportsman ship. A vibrant aerobics performance presented by class 7 students captured the attention of the audience. All the winners were awarded with medals and certificates. The Chief Guest and Special Guests shared few motivational words with the students, to boost their morale and channelize their vigour fruitfully to a fixed goal. Fun games were organized for the parents where they participated and won several accolades .Different houses were also awarded with trophies for their maximum achievements and participation .The winner house trophy was bagged by Aryabhatta House and the first runner up house was Babha. The program concluded with an exuberant patriotic Closing Dance by the students of class 8 followed by Vote Of Thanks , School Song and National Anthem.
